Community Resource & Referral Services
Information and referral to appropriate community services. The WRC is often the first place people contact to find out about services available in Alamance County.

Family Law in North Carolina
A book with comprehensive information regarding the emotional and legal aspects of separation, divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, property settlement, and domestic violence. Cost: $12. Published by the Women’s Center in Chapel Hill, the WRC stocks the books for distribution in our community. The book is free to women of limited income enrolled in our New Choices program.

Smart Cookies
A WRC members’ group that meets the first Tuesday of each month to share financial strategies, budgeting and goal setting. Based on the Money Group model created by author Jean Chatzky.

Growing Up and Liking It
Workshop on puberty promoting parent-child communication is offered for mothers & daughters (ages 9-12).

BookWomen
A WRC members’ group that meets monthly to discuss books selected by participants. Click here to view a list of the books read by our BookWomen group.

Theater Group

Women’s Agenda Assembly
The Alamance County Women’s Agenda Assembly is an evening event that brings together women from diverse backgrounds to study, discuss and prioritize issues that can be addressed by state legislators in the upcoming session. The Women’s Resource Center has coordinated the local Assembly since 1988 and is a member of NC Women United, a consensus-based coalition of statewide organizations committed to achieving full equality and empowerment of women through the coordination of organizational action on issues that affect women. With your insight regarding these issues, your input on this taskforce can make a difference.
